Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt; set aside.
  3. In another bowl, cream softened butter with granulated and brown sugars until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in eggs one at a time, then add vanilla extract and mix until fully incorporated.
  5. Gradually mix dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  6. Gently fold in chocolate chips and candy pieces.
  7. Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto prepared baking sheets, leaving space between them.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are set but centers remain soft. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for five minutes before transferring to wire racks.
