Ingredients
  

Steak and Salad Base
  • 1 pound sirloin steak trimmed
  • 6 cups mixed salad greens such as arugula, spinach, and romaine
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes halved
  • 1 cucumber sliced
  • 1 avocado sliced
  • ½ cup red onion thinly sliced
Vinaigrette
  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

Method
 

Prepare the Steak
  1. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  2. Season the sirloin steak with salt and pepper.
  3. Grill the steak for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness.
  4. Remove from grill and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
Assemble the Salad
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the mixed salad greens, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, avocado, and red onion.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the olive oil, balsamic vinegar, Dijon mustard, minced garlic, salt, and pepper to make the vinaigrette.
  3. Slice the grilled steak against the grain into thin strips.
  4. Top the salad with the sliced steak and drizzle with the vinaigrette. Toss gently to combine.
