Ingredients
  

For the Smash Burgers
  • 1 pound ground beef 80/20 blend recommended
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese optional
For the Tacos
  • 8 small taco shells soft or crispy
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • ½ cup sour cream or Greek yogurt
  • ¼ cup sliced jalapeños optional
  • ¼ cup pickles sliced

Method
 

Cooking the Smash Burgers
  1. Preheat a skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions and form loose balls.
  3. Place the balls in the skillet and smash them down with a spatula to form patties.
  4. Season with salt and pepper, and cook for about 3-4 minutes on one side.
  5. Flip the patties, add cheese if desired, and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until cheese is melted.
Assembling the Tacos
  1. Warm the taco shells in the oven or microwave.
  2. Place a smash burger patty in each taco shell.
  3. Top with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, sour cream, jalapeños, and pickles as desired.
  4. Serve immediately and enjoy!
