Ingredients
  

Tuna Steaks
  • 4 pieces Tuna steaks about 6 oz each
Marinade
  • 3 tablespoons Soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon Honey
  • 1 teaspoon Fresh ginger grated
  • 1 clove Garlic minced
Garnish
  • 2 tablespoons Sesame seeds toasted
  • 1 cup Green onions sliced

Method
 

Marinate the Tuna
  1. In a bowl, combine soy sauce, sesame oil, honey, grated ginger, and minced garlic. Mix well.
  2. Place the tuna steaks in the marinade and let them sit for at least 10 minutes.
Sear the Tuna
  1. Heat a skillet over high heat until very hot. Add a little oil to the skillet.
  2. Remove the tuna from the marinade and sear each steak for about 1-2 minutes on each side for rare, or longer if desired.
  3. Use a meat thermometer to check for doneness; aim for 120°F for rare.
Serve
  1. Remove the tuna from the skillet and let it rest for a minute.
  2. Slice the tuna against the grain and serve with toasted sesame seeds and sliced green onions on top.

Notes
