Method
Marinate the Tuna
- In a bowl, combine soy sauce, sesame oil, honey, grated ginger, and minced garlic. Mix well.
- Place the tuna steaks in the marinade and let them sit for at least 10 minutes.
Sear the Tuna
- Heat a skillet over high heat until very hot. Add a little oil to the skillet.
- Remove the tuna from the marinade and sear each steak for about 1-2 minutes on each side for rare, or longer if desired.
- Use a meat thermometer to check for doneness; aim for 120°F for rare.
Serve
- Remove the tuna from the skillet and let it rest for a minute.
- Slice the tuna against the grain and serve with toasted sesame seeds and sliced green onions on top.
