Peach Cobbler Using Pie Crust

Ingredients
  

Filling
  • 4 cups fresh peaches, sliced peeled and pitted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar adjust based on sweetness of peaches
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour for thickening
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon optional
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice to enhance flavor
Crust
  • 2 pie crusts store-bought or homemade for top and bottom
  • 1 tablespoon butter for dotting on top

Method
 

Prepare the Filling
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine sliced peaches, sugar, flour, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Toss to coat evenly.
Assemble the Cobbler
  1. Roll out one pie crust and fit it into the bottom of a baking dish.
  2. Pour the peach mixture into the crust, spreading it evenly.
  3. Dot the filling with small pieces of butter.
  4. Cover with the second pie crust, sealing the edges and cutting slits for steam to escape.
Bake
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 35-45 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
  2. Let cool for at least 10 minutes before serving.
