Ingredients
  

Chicken Marinade
  • 1 pound boneless chicken thighs marinated in buttermilk
  • 1 cup buttermilk for marinating
Flour Mixture
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour for coating
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup vegetable oil for frying
Waffle Batter
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter melted
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
Toppings
  • ¼ cup maple syrup
  • ¼ cup fresh parsley chopped, for garnish

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Marinate the chicken thighs in buttermilk for at least 1 hour.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Dredge the marinated chicken pieces in the flour mixture.
Cooking
  1. Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat and fry the chicken until golden brown and cooked through.
  2. In another bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, sugar, milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract to make the waffle batter.
  3. Pour the batter into a waffle maker and cook according to the manufacturer's instructions.
  4. Serve the fried chicken on top of the waffles, drizzled with maple syrup and garnished with chopped parsley.
