Ingredients
  

Pasta
  • 8 oz spaghetti or any pasta of your choice
Meat
  • 1 lb ground beef can substitute with ground turkey or chicken
Vegetables
  • 1 cup onion chopped
  • 1 cup bell pepper chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
Sauce
  • 1 can diced tomatoes 14.5 oz
  • 1 can black beans drained and rinsed
  • 1 cup salsa your favorite variety
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
Toppings
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese shredded
  • ¼ cup cilantro chopped, for garnish

Method
 

Cook the Spaghetti
  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Prepare the Sauce
  1. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked. Drain excess fat.
  2. Add chopped onion, bell pepper, and garlic to the skillet. Sauté until vegetables are tender.
  3. Stir in diced tomatoes, black beans, salsa, chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
Combine and Serve
  1. Add the cooked spaghetti to the skillet and toss to combine with the sauce. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  2. Serve hot, topped with shredded cheddar cheese and chopped cilantro.
