Method
 

Baking Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream butter and brown sugar until fluffy. Add molasses, egg, and vanilla; mix well.
  4. Gradually combine dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just blended.
  5. Chill dough for at least 30 minutes for easier handling.
  6. Roll out dough to ¼ inch thick on a floured surface; cut into shapes using cookie cutters.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are firm but centers remain soft. Cool before decorating.
