  • 1 pound fresh green beans trimmed
  • 1 tablespoon salt for boiling water
  • 1 tablespoon butter optional, for flavor
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper to taste

Method
 

Cooking Fresh Green Beans
  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
  2. Add the trimmed green beans to the boiling water and cook for 4-5 minutes until tender-crisp.
  3. Drain the green beans in a colander and rinse under cold water to stop the cooking process.
  4. Return the green beans to the pot, add butter and black pepper, and toss to combine.
  5. Serve immediately as a side dish.
