  • 1 fresh baguette fresh baguette
  • 8 oz sirloin steak
  • 2 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil divided
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes halved
  • ½ cup fresh basil leaves
  • 2 tablespoon balsamic glaze

Method
 

  1. Season the sirloin steak with salt and pepper. Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the steak for 4-5 minutes per side until it reaches your desired doneness. Let it rest before slicing.
  2. Slice the baguette diagonally into half-inch thick pieces. Brush both sides with remaining olive oil and toast at 400°F until golden brown.
  3. In a small bowl, mix minced garlic with olive oil; spread on each toasted baguette slice.
  4. Thinly slice the rested steak against the grain. On each slice of bread, layer sliced steak, halved cherry tomatoes, and basil leaves.
  5. Drizzle with balsamic glaze and serve immediately.
