  • 24 ounces brioche bread
  • 8 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk
Flavorings
  • 5 tablespoons packed brown sugar divided
  • 1.5 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 0.75 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a baking dish.
  3. Place the cubed brioche bread in the prepared dish.
  4. In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, 3 tablespoons of brown sugar, cinnamon, salt, and vanilla extract.
  5. Pour the egg mixture over the bread cubes and gently mix to combine.
  6. Sprinkle the remaining 2 tablespoons of brown sugar on top.
  7. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or overnight.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes or until golden and set.
  2. Serve warm, topped with toasted walnuts or pecans, powdered sugar, and maple syrup if desired.
