  • ½ cup unsalted butter softened

Method
 

Baking Process
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream the butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add molasses, vanilla extract, and egg one at a time until fully combined.
  4. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined. Chill the dough for at least one hour.
  5. Roll out the chilled dough to about ¼ inch thick on a floured surface and cut into shapes using cookie cutters.
  6. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until edges are golden brown. Allow to cool before decorating.
