Baking Process
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt.
- In another bowl, cream the butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add molasses, vanilla extract, and egg one at a time until fully combined.
- Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined. Chill the dough for at least one hour.
- Roll out the chilled dough to about ¼ inch thick on a floured surface and cut into shapes using cookie cutters.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes or until edges are golden brown. Allow to cool before decorating.
