Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • cup cocoa powder (unsweetened)
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (room temperature)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¾ cup dried cherries
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or dark)

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, beat butter with granulated and brown sugars until fluffy.
  4. Add egg and vanilla; mix until well combined.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture until just combined.
  6. Fold in dried cherries and chocolate chips.
  7. Scoop tablespoon-sized dough onto prepared sheets, spacing them apart.
  8. Bake for about 10 minutes or until edges are set but centers remain soft. Cool before serving.
