Ingredients
  

Tapioca Pearls
  • 1 cup tapioca pearls black or white
  • 4 cups water for boiling
  • 1 cup brown sugar for sweetening
Tea Base
  • 4 cups water for brewing
  • 4 teaspoons black tea leaves or 4 tea bags
  • 1 cup milk or non-dairy alternative
  • 2 tablespoons honey or sweetener of choice
Serving
  • ice crushed ice to taste

Method
 

Prepare Tapioca Pearls
  1. Bring 4 cups of water to a boil in a pot.
  2. Add the tapioca pearls and cook for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Once cooked, remove from heat and let sit for 10 minutes.
  4. Strain the pearls and rinse under cold water.
  5. Mix the pearls with brown sugar to sweeten.
Prepare Tea Base
  1. In a separate pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil.
  2. Add black tea leaves or tea bags and steep for 5 minutes.
  3. Remove tea leaves or bags and stir in milk and honey.
Assemble Bubble Tea
  1. In serving glasses, add a few tablespoons of sweetened tapioca pearls.
  2. Fill the glass with crushed ice.
  3. Pour the prepared tea over the ice and pearls.
  4. Stir well and serve with a wide straw.
