  • 3 tablespoon butter
  • 2 large yellow onions thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 cups low-sodium beef broth
  • 1 cup Gruyère cheese shredded
  • ½ cup Parmesan cheese grated

Method
 

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt butter and add sliced onions. Cook for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  2. Stir in minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.
  3. Pour in beef broth and simmer for 5 minutes to meld flavors.
  4. Boil salted water and cook gnocchi until they float (about 2 minutes). Drain well.
  5. Mix cooked gnocchi with the onion mixture in a baking dish. Top with Gruyère and Parmesan cheeses.
  6. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake for 20-25 minutes until bubbly and golden.
